Standard USSA match fees are $35.00.  No matter how elaborate the scenarios are!  State, Regional, and National matches are more and dependent on the venue.

USSA scenarios are as realistic as can be.  There are some Tactical Division scenarios that require shooters to have a degree of physical strength (i.e. grabbing a dummy) and there are some Functional Division scenarios that require a bit of stamina also (i.e. pushing a grocery cart or holding a baby/ toddler).  But these are everyday activities.

Yes.  if you are legal to have it, you can run it. However, for safety purposes, full auto weapons are not allowed for usage during matches.

For Tactical Division matches absolutely!...In fact, it's a requirement to be in tactical attire. Likewise, Functional Division matches require you to use "functional" attire and holsters...see the USSA rule book for more detail.

It will allow shooters to use shoulder-fired weapons and handguns, and scoring will be realistically based upon accuracy “outweighing" speed in shooting.

Yes, with USSA there are two kinds of threat targets- steel and cardboard. The latter targets will be unique and the first to be representative of realistic anatomy, meaning that threat targets can be neutralized by one hit in higher priority vital sites, and in lesser vital areas will require two hits to neutralize a threat.

Yes, just like it would be in real life, time matters. But, not more than hits. Accuracy is more highly valued than speed of shooting in USSA, as it also is in real life. If a shooter does not complete “the mission” within the specified “par” time, the shooter will not receive any points for threats that were not engaged/neutralized. No, a shooter won’t have to wear “track shoes” to be competitive. The allowed “par” time will be reasonably sufficient. 

Sort of. When a shooter registers to shoot a USSA match, they will have access to the written scenario briefing about each of the scenarios, plus a diagram of that scenario. However, on match day, a shooter will not be able to “walk through” the erected scenario to plan-out their steps, etc.

USSA strives to present the most realistically-based scenarios in shooting sports. In real life, as a threat situation suddenly occurs, one cannot say, “Time out, I want to walk through all of this, to see the actual distribution of threats prior to me being involved.” No. As the old phrase goes, “..It happens.” Barriers in USSA scenarios are truly barriers. One cannot see through them. Again, just as in real life.

Yes. Big ones for Major Safety Violations, as in all shooting sports. Lesser ones for other violations, such as failure to neutralize threats, not using cover, shooting a non-threat, etc. These can all be reviewed in the USSA Rule book on this webpage.

No. Shooters will have to move from point to point to engage threats, but not run distances to do so. Some shooting points will simulate roof lines of buildings or shooting from prone, or even unstable platforms...but you won't need to be a track star to be uber-competitive.
